Yes, this will be an excellent Christmas present for your children or for yourself. And yes, there are more books to buy. And and yes yes, these are well written and full of imagination. AND, just kidding. Truly.
Apparently I'm reading these backwards but it doesn't really seem to matter too much. This Bookling (the little monster on the back) even rather enjoys my backward adventure.

I honestly don't feel the need to spoil the storyline or explain in great detail what is happening except to say that this is a world of books about books by which books are living and read. And it's all done in a way that no matter your age you will appreciate it.
Right off from the start, at least in the second book, you meet Optimus Yarnspinner, this stud:
Who has been spending time back at his home town living off of the royalties of his success as an author after his previous adventure to Bookholm. However, not all has settled down as he receives a mysterious letter informing him that the Shadow King has returned! Curious, bored, or simply stupid, Yarnspinner is unsure himself, he decides to venture off to Bookholm once again, to uncover the truth of this mysterious letter. Spooky!
My wife wasn't sure I was going to enjoy this book, she's an artist and knows this kind of literature very well, her first perception went along the lines that it was going to be a bit more artsy than anything actually worth reading, but I can assure you that there's real worth beyond just the art.
Buy it. Enjoy it. And keep it forever.
